It has been a busy year for the LEC Officers and our ALR and I wanted to provide a recap of happenings and accomplishments that have taken place at Local 11. The Joint Advisory Council (JAC) was held in Tampa, Florida this past month. While there, we were introduced to representatives of the newest members to AMFA from Spirit, Sun Country Airlines, as well as a representative from L3 in Canada.
In April, AMFA Local 11 member Rob Cush from Maintenance Control accepted the position as Governmental Affairs Liaison for AMFA. He is actively promoting the Political Action Committee (PAC) which is a voice for aircraft mechanics that allows us to legally connect with our elected US Representatives in Congress. I encourage each one of you to contact Rob with questions regarding the PAC and how to join.
In June, Local 11 LEC and 45 members showed their support and participated in SWAPA’s Informational Picketing in Dallas.
